DVD Review: Live: Keane: Movies & TV
Product Description
Finally available in the U.S.! On July 21st 2007, Keane arrived at London’s O2 Arena for the climax of the 18-month world tour which had accompanied their multi-million selling second album "Under The Iron Sea." The band performed in front of 17,000 dedicated fans, a record-breaking crowd for the O2. To preserve this one-off occasion, they invited legendary concert director Dick Carruthers (The Who, Led Zeppelin, Oasis, White Stripes) to film it for their second DVD release (following 2005’s acclaimed "Strangers"). The band didn’t disappoint. From the moment the gig burst to life with an incendiary "Everybody’s Changing," Keane had those 17,000 fans spellbound, delivering anthem after anthem from the 2-million selling "Under The Iron Sea" and its 5.5-million selling predecessor, "Hopes And Fears." With Richard Hughes’ propulsive drumming, Tim Rice-Oxley’s heart-tearing keyboard melodies, and Tom Chaplin’s second-to-none live singing voice, these three men proved just how well they can fill a huge room with their beautiful, brooding and enormously touching music. Highlights of the show include a belting "Is It Any Wonder," a singalong-tastic "Somewhere Only We Know," a spellbinding "Hamburg Song" delivered on a B-stage in the middle of the arena, and a foreboding "A Bad Dream," introduced by the Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon reading the poem which inspired the song, "An Irish Airman Foresees His Death" by W B Yeats. The gig eventually culminates amidst a sea of ticker tape with an exhilarating rendition of "Bedshaped," leaving the hairs standing up on the back of around 17,000 necks. Now everyone will be able to relive the experience through this DVD and Blu-ray, which also feature a host of behind-the-scenes extras, offering a fascinating insight into the build up to the show. They include a second angle of the whole concert, footage of the soundcheck, a short film made backstage, and the live visuals from several songs.
Beautiful!,

I was excited to receive this DVD, having seen Keane 3 times during the 2007 U.S. tour. The DVD does not disappoint and captures what makes Keane so special - beautifully crafted songs, Tom Chaplin’s range, phrasing and gorgeous voice, soaring melodies, rocking beats and a relationship between the band members going back to childhood. I know we will watch this DVD many times over and reminisce about our own experiences seeing Keane live in Berkeley, Boston and Philadelphia. Thanks for making the movie!!!
Fantastic,

There are often occasions where seeing a live performance of a band you like is disappointing. This concert DVD is just the opposite. Not only does it confirm my belief that Keane are one of the best new artists around, it gave me a new found respect for them. I was a bit worried near the beginning of the performance because it seemed like Tom Chaplin might be getting into a bit of the self indulgent crowd interaction too much but I think after he calmed down the band concentrated on a great performance. And it was great. Chaplin’s voice was absolutely solid. The sound quality is perfect. A fine mix despite the fact that it’s only 3 guys and often just 2 making the music. The visuals are fantastic. It’s really a pleasure to see that Keane has people that understand that lighting and visual effects add so much to a good concert. This DVD is an absolute must for Keane fans and anyone else that appreciates great new music performed by seriously talented individuals.

I have two Region-A/1 bluray players.
I bought my first player from U.S.A.
and bought one more from sony in South Korea.
But both player couldn’t play this title.
I saw the same message when I played “Girls Aloud - Bluray” bought from Amazon.
Maybe, these titles are imported from U.K. using region code : B/2.
