Product Description
All Ben Wilson (Joshua Dallas, The Descent Two) wants is to be a better man. So when he hooks up with Joe Miller (Stacy Keach, TV’s Prison Break), a cantankerous old boxing trainer, he finally gets his chance. Preparing for a title-qualifying bout against The Butcher — the sadistic bully who once nearly crippled him — Ben hopes to win fame, fortune and the girl he loves. For in today’s world, there’s only one way to get what you really want: you’ve got to fight for it!

Stacy Keach is one of my favorites, and his performance as Mr. Titus has to go down as one of the best TV dads in history. I would have given this one star, but he alone elevates this a couple.

Imagine Rocky, but we have a batch of unknowns filling the ranks behind Keach as the Burgess Meredith role. Add an absolutely painful music score and soundtrack that could even irritate the tone deaf, writing that makes you cringe every few minutes, and most of all one of the worst post-production elements I have seen on a DVD. The sound does not match the majority of the boxing scenes, the editing fades in the middle of someone speaking, forced acting, and sound mixing that rivals an amateur level.

Thomas Jahn uses some of the same people from his other German productions so I would put this at the top of his last few if you follow his merits. The one strong point of this DVD is the film stock; They actually put some time into making this look clear (dir. mentions that he used memory chips on Panasonic HD cameras). And if Stacy ever gets lung cancer - this film is responsible, he chain smokes in every scene. The DVD has an eight minute making-of that helps on how this gets made.

A light Sunday night rental, nothing more or less. Not a fan of this at all, but Stacy has that kind of influence on me.
