This documentary profiles surfers and surfing locations all over the world, including the monstrous waves of Oahu’s North Shore, the Gulf shores of Texas (where waves are created by oil supertankers), the ice-cold waters of Ireland, Santa Cruz, Costa Rica, the Cortez Banks, Da Nang in Vietnam, the tiny waves of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin and the tropics of Rapa Nui. More important than the diverse and often spectacular locations and waves, however, are the wide range of surfers that are profiled, challenging the stereotypes about the surfing counterculture. If you like surfing movies, you’ll like this one. If you love the ocean and outdoor activities, you’ll like this movie. If you love daytime soaps and reality TV, pass on this one.

This is such a good surfing documentary, anyone would enjoy it, surfer or not. Really well done.

Step Into Liquid is a “must have” for your collection. Beautiful, breathtaking, and educational. And, thanks to the DTS soundtrack, room- shaking, monster waves!

Rating: - More for the family than the surfer..
I guess it depends on what you are looking for. If it’s a beautiful surf movie with incredible action and sick big wave surfing, this is not it. If it’s a movie to watch with the kiddies, then yeah. Too much time spent on heart warming tales than sick late drops into blue wonderful.

Rating: - A superb Bluray example
Are you a surfer? No? Ok well just admire the beauty then of high definition water and a rather compelling documentary that will have you wow’ed in no time at all.
