Its a good DVD. Funny to look back at the first episode never knew in the first sesame street Oscar the groch was ORANGE! Yes he was ORANGE! My 11 month old loves sesame street but didnt care for the old school episodes. Its more for us Adults who grew up watching Sesame Street and looking back at the old animation and characters. In my daughters case she didnt care for it. But it was fun to look back!!

Actually, the title for my review pretty much says it all.
Of minimal consequence:
I don’t mind the video quality and neither does my 2-year-old.
I plan on getting Volume 2.
I love the opening music/singing.
I wish they’d release all of the episodes from 1969 to 1974 - they need to not underestimate how much the general consumer is willing to pay (even in these economic times) for good TV.

This is when Sesame Street was at it’s absolute best! But, there are a few edits from what I remember. One is how they cut the song Consider Yourself in episode 1 right after Gordon finishes putting faces on the anything muppets. Instead it fades out after he puts the faces on. WHAT A SHAME. There is also a suprise (easter egg) SPOILER HERE: On disc 1 on the special features menu, above the words old school is little bird. Rating: - Wonderful! Lots of Burt and Ernie
I rented it first because I saw some bad reviews and I was skeptical. My kids love it, from my one year old twins right up to my 14 year old son. The older kids were mesmerized at how different some of the characters looked and they thought it was very entertaining, where as normally they find Sesame Street boring.
